Ripjar is a global company of talented technologists, data scientists and analysts designing products that will change the way criminal activities are detected and prevented. Our founders are experienced technologists & leaders from the heart of the UK security and intelligence community all previously working at the British Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ). We understand how to build products that scale, work seamlessly with the user and enhance analysis through machine learning and artificial intelligence. We believe that through this augmented analysis we can protect global companies and governments from the ever-present threat of money laundering, fraud, cyber-crime and terrorism.

Tom Obermaier
CEO
Tom Obermaier is the CEO of Ripjar, leveraging over 30 years of expertise in risk intelligence. He has served as Chief Risk Officer at Citibank and Deutsche Bank, where he managed extensive global teams and risk portfolios. As CEO of RDC, he established a key risk diligence standard before its acquisition by Moody's Analytics. Tom specialises in driving growth and innovation in compliance solutions, helping clients navigate complex regulatory environments.
Jeremy Annis

Jeremy is a former intelligence professional and data scientist with the British government’s signals intelligence agency, GCHQ. He has extensive experience in complex analysis and visualisation of large, structured and unstructured data sets to generate critical insights for national security and the detection of serious crimes.
Tom Griffin

Tom Griffin is one of Ripjar’s co-founders and sits on the Ripjar board - he is currently our COO. Tom has a PhD in Engineering Mathematics from Bristol University. Prior to Ripjar, he was the Technical Director of GCHQ’s Engineering Department responsible for creating and sustaining the solutions that protect the UK from threats including terrorism, cyber and serious organised crime. Tom was Ripjar’s CEO between 2013 and 2018, guiding Ripjar through its initial growth and 3 funding rounds.
Steve Hadaway

Steve leads Ripjar’s go-to-market strategy and global commercial team, leveraging his 25+ years of experience in enterprise software and analytics, much of it focused on helping organisations fight financial crime. Prior to Ripjar, he was Chief Revenue Officer at Encompass Corporation, and earlier in his career, Steve spent 15 years at FICO, where he served as General Manager for the EMEA business.
Gabriel Hopkins

As Chief Product Officer, Gabriel leads Ripjar's product management with the responsibility for setting and delivering the company's product strategy. With 20 years of product management and marketing experience, Gabriel understands the challenges of developing sophisticated software solutions while balancing innovation with customer needs. Prior to Ripjar, Gabriel was Vice President, Product Management at FICO overseeing the development of the company's next generation fraud and financial crime solution. He has also served as Vice President, Product Management and Marketing at WorldPay (now FIS).
Joe Whitfield-Seed

Joe is responsible for the vision, strategy and delivery of solutions across Ripjar’s technology stack. He has been an integral part of the Ripjar team since the company’s inception, scaling our technology and engineering team to counter evolving threats. Prior to Ripjar, Joe worked in a number of technology, research and analytical roles in national security. He specialises in developing scalable AI systems to derive insights from structured and unstructured data.

Kate, our Head of Finance, joined the Ripjar team in April 2018. With her passion for numbers, attention to detail and collaborative approach, Kate leads the finance team in the effective and efficient management of all the company’s financial operations. With over 10 years' experience gained in senior roles within the tech industry she provides expertise across a broad range of finance areas. Kate is ACMA, CGMA qualified.

Loona joined Ripjar in 2021 as our VP of Marketing, overseeing global branding and demand generation activities. With over 11 years of experience driving growth for early-to-mid-stage tech companies, Loona previously served as the Global Head of Digital Marketing at ComplyAdvantage. Her strategic expertise is a valuable asset in strengthening Ripjar's market position and crafting a compelling brand.
Simon McClive
VP of Delivery and OperationsSimon McClive
VP of Delivery and Operations
Simon is responsible for the successful delivery of our customer projects, as well as managing Ripjar’s SaaS infrastructure and its successful operation to customers. Prior to working at Ripjar, he specialised in data analytics and capability development within the British government. He has also created and led technology across a number of sectors as the co-founder and CEO of a knowledge-sharing startup and a software engineer in the financial services industry.

Maria has been worked at Ripjar since 2016. Having worked for 15 years in legal services, she is an HR Generalist with a focus on people and culture. CIPD qualified, Maria believes in a ‘whole team’ approach building and managing strong working relationships through good communications and, placing people and their ongoing engagement high on Ripjar’s agenda. She is experienced in directing the administrative functions of SMEs and developing company culture.

Bratin is our General Counsel, setting our direction on the full range of legal and compliance issues. Bratin has a degree in Physics, and spent over 20 years advising on technology-related legal issues as a litigator in private practice and in-house before joining Ripjar in 2021.
